Old Video Emerges Of Sean Strickland Advocating That Kids Receive More 'Alcoholic Rage Beatings' From Dads

Sean Strickland's appearance on Theo Von's podcast prompted a lot of conversation and debate about some of the things he said.

Many have labelled him as a hypocrite for stating that Dricus Du Plessis crossed the line by talking about child abuse at their recent press conference.

Strickland also said that talking about another man's wife is off limits and he has done that regularly in recent weeks in his beef with Ian Machado Garry.

The middleweight champion believes that Du Plessis shouldn't be able to say whatever he wants with no repercussions - especially about child abuse.

However, this is a rather revised viewpoint for the 185-pound champ, as an old interview shows.

On an episode of Food Truck Diaries with Brendan Schaub, Strickland remarked that more people should be subject to physical abuse growing up to make them tougher.

"You guys are just soft mother*******, you gotta get hit by your family more. We need to bring back alcoholism, maybe some drug abuse, be good for you guys."

"You f****** dodge a couple of beer bottles when you're a kid, you harden up. I'm not saying the world would be a better place if there were more of me, but you guys need to get hit by your dads a little more.

Not even hit, not like disciplined, you guys don't need to be like 'I didn't take out the trash', hit, you guys need to get like an alcoholic rage beating and then you'll start f****** learning how to have nuts."

There's an argument to be made that he's joking here and using that as a defence to the clear emotion he holds about this topic, even if it does contradict some of the things he has said more recently.

However, it does feed into the argument of hypocrisy.

Michael Bisping Jumps To Paddy 'The Fatty' Pimblett's Defense After Fans Attack Him For Weight Gain

After a year of staying in shape to recover from his injury before beating Tony Ferguson at UFC 296, no one could have complained at Paddy Pimblett for enjoying himself.

That being said, fans were still shocked to see his drastic change of physique from December 16 to New Year Eve where he shared some photos on Instagram.

The regular criticisms of "Paddy the fatty" were once again aimed at the Brit who is known to put on some weight after a fight by indulging himself in all the food he has had to cut out during his training.

Michael Bisping came to his defence in a recent YouTube video where he told people to get off the man's back and let him enjoy his win before getting back to business in 2024.

"He's been enjoying Christmas, my god has he ever because he's back to what everyone calls Paddy 'the fatty'. So what? The man's enjoying himself okay and so far, he's made weight every single time so leave the man alone. It's Christmas, he's been enjoying, he's been indulging, he's been on the pies, god knows what he's been doing."

Tom Aspinall Resumes Campaign For Jon Jones Fight, Criticism Of Stipe Miocic Title Shot: ‘UFC Has Never Been About This’

A heavyweight title unification clash between Jon Jones and the interim champion Tom Aspinall is sure to be high on most people's lists of fights they want to see in 2024.

Unfortunately, the fight looks unlikely despite the Brit's best efforts to stake his claim as Jones' next opponent.

"Bones" is expected to be out until the final months of the year with his injury and the UFC appear to be sticking to their guns of having him defend his title against former champ Stipe Miocic for his return.

Aspinall pleaded his case once again with a series of posts on social media.

The interim champion referred to how long Miocic has been out and how this is not what the UFC is supposed to be about whilst paying respect to the former champion in the process.
