'Knocked out everybody but not me,' Former champ Jan Blachowicz makes the case to rematch Alex Pereira in a title bout

Jan Blachowicz has unfinished business with the light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira . The Polish powerhouse wasn’t satisfied with the result of their first clash and has plans to settle the score next time. Blachowicz recently did an interview with Fanatics View where he laid down his plans to fight Pereira for the second time.

During the conversation, Jan Blachowicz revealed that he won the first fight against Alex Pereira. The fighter claimed that Pereira had knocked out everybody instead of him so he deserved a second shot at the champion.

He is not better fighter than me, and I believe that I deserve the rematch... When he fight against me, I still believe that I won this fight.Referee see different scores but I believe that I won this fight against him and I believe that I deserve for the rematch. Blachowicz’s last win was against Aleksandar Rakic back in 2022. Hence, the fighter is desperately waiting for an opportunity to bounce back. However, he doesn’t want to fight anyone down the rankings.

‘Poatan’ is currently at the top of the world after his performance at UFC 300. Since then he has been challenged by various top fighters including Jiri Prochazka , Jamahal Hill , Anthony Smith, etc. The Brazilian has also responded and has plans to fight Prochazka next.

Alex Pereira’s run in the UFC has been nothing short of legendary. The fighter stormed his way to become the UFC middleweight champion. After a small halt, Pereira moved up in division and continued his domination in the light heavyweight class. Pereira’s only loss was against Israel Adesanya but the fighter bounced back by defeating Jan Blachowicz at UFC 291.

While talking about his fight with Blachowicz, Pereira revealed that he recovered from the Adesanya fight and did a great fight camp. The fighter talked about feeling better physically at light heavyweight in comparison to middleweight.

People watching the fight thought that I was the one that was going to get tired, but they actually saw Blachowicz as the one getting tired. Now at light heavyweight, Pereira is looking unstoppable and weighs around 230 lbs going into the fight night. Due to this, the Brazilian has also shown signs to move up and fight the UFC heavyweight Jon Jones . Given the circumstances, Blachowicz might have to wait a long time to get his rematch.
