Aljamain Sterling Sends Fans Warning About UFC 300 Headliner Between Alex Pereira & Jamahal Hill: 'I'd Be Doing Fans A Disservice If I Didn't Acknowledge That...'

At long last, the headliner for UFC 300 was announced this past weekend, with Alex Pereira defending his light heavyweight title against Jamahal Hill.

After seemingly hitting a road block with all of the other options that were being explored, this fight was moved forward after originally being targeted for UFC 301 in Brazil.

Many will no doubt be excited to see Pereira in action, and his clash with former champ Hill, who vacated the title due to an injury, makes a lot of sense for the division.

It might not be the jaw dropping main event that many had hoped for, but that's not necessarily down to either of the two men involved.

What could impact the fight, however, is the previously mentioned injury that Hill will attempt to come back from with even less time to prepare.

Sterling Sees Cause For Concern With Hill Coming Back Even Earlier For UFC 300

During his YouTube reaction video to the main event announcement, former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling addressed some concerns.

Sterling is also set to compete on April 13, when he will make his featherweight debut against Calvin Kattar. Having spent some time around Hill as of late, Sterling is confident that "Sweet Dreams" knows what he is doing in taking this fight a bit earlier than originally planned.

However, he still felt like raising this as a potential flag for the fans was still worth his attention because it would likely be a big talking point in the fight itself.

"The only thing I'm kinda curious about- and you know Jamahal's my guy, here trains out here in Vegas now too. I'm just hoping that his Achilles- because I just feel like they couldn't get some other main events, you go to the next best thing that you could get right. I just hope that he's not pushing something that could be, knock on wood, end up in another catastrophic injury. I'm not trying to speak that into existence, I'm hoping that everything heals up and is 100 percent A-OK when he steps in there because, obviously, 'Poatan' is a tough dude, he uses a lot of calf kicks, we all know that.

"I think he's going to be locked in and ready to go but it would just be for me, I think I'd be doing the fans a disservice if I didn't acknowledge that because I want to make sure they get all the information and understand like hey, this is potentially a risk."
