It’s not uncommon for a celebrity to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at a baseball game, especially an Opening Day game.

The Cleveland Guardians have Tom Hanks scheduled to do it for their home opener on April 15.

But the New York Yankees also have something special planned for their Opening Day when the Boston Red Sox come into town to renew baseball’s oldest and fiercest rivalry.

New York’s own Billy Crystal is set to throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Thursday for the Yankees home opener, and Crystal is a well-known Yankees fan, which will give the crowd a reason to cheer.

It’s always nice to have a celebrity in town to throw out the first pitch, especially if it’s someone like Crystal.

What better way for the Yankees to kick off the 2022 season than to have Crystal in the house?

Crystal is an avid Yankees fan, and the crowd is going to love every second of it.

Fans have waited through a lockout, which stalled the entire offseason, including Hot Stove season.

Baseball is finally back, and you know it’s back when somebody famous delivers the first pitch.

It’s nice to see the Yankees show appreciation for their fans by bringing a superstar in for Opening Day.

New York City can claim many celebrities and Crystal is just one of them.

He’s been around for many great moments in Yankees history, especially moments of their rivalry with the Red Sox.

He has seen it all.

Not only that, but he will kick off another exciting chapter of the most historic rivalry in professional sports.

We’ll see if it gives the Yankees an extra push for Opening Day.
