The Chicago White Sox (23-23) will close out May by starting a three-game road series against the red-hot Toronto Blue Jays (27-20) on Tuesday. The Sox announced that they'll get one of their biggest offensive stars back from a one-week absence but are set to lose another to yet another injury.
Prior to tonight’s series opener at Toronto, the #WhiteSox placed All-Star shortstop Tim Anderson on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to May 30) with a strained right groin and reinstated outfielder Luis Robert from the Covid-19 Related injury list.

White Sox manager Tony La Russa already said on Sunday that Anderson would be going on the IL, but the injury severity wasn't yet known. The 2021 All-Star has posted a .356/.393/.503 slash line to go along with five home runs, 19 RBI and eight stolen bases through 163 at-bats and 40 games played thus far this season.
Anderson leads all Chicago hitters in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, runs scored (24), hits (58) and stolen bases.
Robert was placed on the COVID-19-related injury list last Tuesday. The 2020 Gold Glove Award winner and AL Rookie of the Year runner-up is slashing .285/.319/.438 with six home runs, 17 RBI and six stolen bases this year.
