Tampa Bay Rays Re-Instate INF Brandon Lowe From the Injured List
USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Rays have re-instated infielder Brandon Lowe from the injured list ahead of Tuesday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

The following update comes from the Rotowire fantasy baseball portal:

Lowe (back) was activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

ANALYSIS
Lowe has been sidelined for the last month with a herniated disc in his back, an injury which he battled for a large chunk of last season, as well. However, he's ready to go now after playing five rehab contests. Lowe had posted a .696 OPS with nine home runs in his first 50 games before getting hurt.

The Rays are the best team in the American League but have been hit hard by injuries this season, so getting anybody back is a good thing. Lowe hit 39 homers in 2021 but hasn't been that player the last two years as he's battled the back problems. The hope is that he's now healthy and can get back to being the productive player the Rays had that season.

He is also a former All-Star, having made the team back in 2019.

Tampa Bay is 57-30 on the season and in first place in the American League East. They lead the Orioles by six games at the time of this posting and are coming off a series loss on the road at Seattle.

First pitch between the Rays and Phillies is at 4:10 p.m. ET. Former Philles pitcher Zach Eflin will pitch against Aaron Nola.
