Should the Brewers trade Corbin Burnes?
Corbin Burnes Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

The Milwaukee BrewersCorbin Burnes could be one of those starting pitchers dealt at the MLB trade deadline if things continue to go south. Milwaukee made a trade last summer before the deadline that sent closer Josh Hader to the Padres. This season, Burnes could be a target to help a contender at the MLB trade deadline.

Will the Milwaukee Brewers Trade Corbin Burnes?

Burnes has been one of the Milwaukee Brewers’ better pitchers this season, and they could get a decent return for him, depending on which team he gets traded to. Burnes will have arbitration for 2024 before becoming an unrestricted free agent after the 2024 season.

So far this season, he has pitched in 14 games and has a 5-4 record with a 3.44 ERA. Burnes has pitched a total of 83.2 innings, giving up 63 hits and 36 runs, along with 29 walks and 83 strikeouts.

Given the shape of the league right now, there are a few teams out there that should be willing to pony up for him.

Baltimore Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles are currently in one of the wild card spots in the American League. Baltimore is very good offensively, but they could use another starting pitcher. The Orioles have one of the best prospect pools in baseball and could give some studs to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for Burnes.

Houston Astros

Every single year, the Houston Astros seem like they make a big splash at the MLB trade deadline, and there's no questioning their moves have worked out in their favor. Houston has won the American League pennant in four of the last six seasons, not to mention two World Series. The Astros acquiring Burnes from the Milwaukee Brewers would make their starting rotation even scarier.

Los Angeles Dodgers

It feels like the Los Angeles Dodgers can never have enough starting pitching. Although it'd be a long shot to see the Milwaukee Brewers doing business with the Dodgers because they’re both in the National League, Milwaukee shouldn't hang up the phone because the Dodgers have some solid prospects they'd be able to deal.
