The Reds signed Solano in March to help bolster their infield — and their lineup — but will only now see what he can do for the team. The 34-year-old Colombian is coming off a successful three-season campaign with the San Francisco Giants, winning a Silver Slugger for his performance in the truncated 2020 season when he slashed .326/.365/.463 with 29 RBI and 62 hits in just 54 games played.
Solano isn't the only player to make a late debut for the Reds this season, with a whopping 50 coming in and out of the lineup so far in 2022.
From the Reds game notes: Donovan Solano, making his season debut tonight, will be the 50th Reds player to appear in a game this season. The club record is 57.

The Pirates are the only team to use more than 50 players this year at 51.
Cincinnati is looking to snap a five-game losing skid. The Reds currently sit in last place in the NL Central.
