Padres Notes: Darvish Could be Done, Suarez Suspension Finalized, Snell Staying Hot
USA TODAY Sports

The Padres won 7-3 Friday night over the San Francisco Giants, but as the Wild Card standings currently sit, San Diego will be dormant come playoff time.

With starting pitcher Yu Darvish receiving bad news about his elbow injury and Robert Suarez receiving the final verdict on his 10-game suspension for allegedly using a sticky substance to aid his pitching, the Padres have seen better days.

The Padres have shown at times at what level the offense can produce, with Machado, Soto, Kim and Tatis Jr. all heating up in stints throughout the season. They just need to synchronize at a near-flawless level if they are to surmount the 7.5-game deficit between them and (checks notes) the San Francisco Giants.

So, for Friday night, a win is a win.
