MLB K-props for Wednesday 4/10: Quintana has met his match in Braves

We got slaughtered for a 0-3 mark in strikeout props Tuesday night, bringing our record to 2-4 on the week. No worries. we have plenty of time to scratch out a profitable week, so let's start with our three favorite K props for Wednesday's MLB slate.

Jose Quintana under 4.5 Ks (-145 FanDuel)

Mets vs. Braves, 7:20 p.m. ET

It's never a bad idea to fade starting pitchers against the Atlanta Braves. The Braves lead MLB this season in runs per game (6.9), batting average (.306) and OPS (.880). Jose Quintana didn't go over 4.5 strikeouts in either of his two starts this year, and he ranks 140th out of 143 qualified pitchers in whiff rate, per Baseball Savant. The lefty may not last long in this matchup. Even if he does, strikeouts will be hard to come by.

Tanner Bibee over 6.5 Ks (+125 DraftKings)

White Sox vs. Guardians, 6:10 p.m. ET

This is a steep line, but we love what we've seen from Tanner Bibee to start the year. The Cleveland Guardians starter ranks 11th among qualified pitchers in whiff rate and 28th in strikeout rate. You could argue he's had the advantage of facing two bottom-tier lineups in the Oakland Athletics and Minnesota Twins, but he gets another one on Wednesday in the Chicago White Sox. The White Sox rank dead last in runs per game (2.09), 28th in OPS (.598) and 21st in strikeout rate (24.0 percent) this season. Expect Bibee to dominate again.

Ross Stripling under 3.5 Ks (-104 FD)

Athletics vs. Rangers, 8:05 p.m. ET

Ross Stripling's strikeout rate declined in each of the last two seasons, and he's trending toward another dip in 2024. The Oakland Athletics starter ranks 136th out of 143 qualified starters this year in whiff rate (15.5 percent), and he's averaging only 6.8 strikeouts per nine innings. The Texas Rangers have the second-lowest strikeout rate (18.0 percent) and the fifth-highest OPS (.784) in baseball this season, so we love the matchup for an under.
