MLB best bets: Wiesguy's 2 Picks and a Prop for 4/17

I know Friday feels like ages ago but we posted another 2-1 day back then. Unfortunately, the Pirates did not come through for a fourth underdog winner of the week so it was a small payoff.

Still, we are off to a good start with lots of the season left to play.

We missed one day game today, but with 11 others to choose from we have a very nice menu.

Prop Pick: 2-2 (-4.6 Units)

Winning Days: 3 of 4

MLB Picks for Monday, April 17

Favorite

Colorado Rockies -140 (vs. Pittsburgh Pirates)
The Pirates have been better than expected. I have missed some value on the way up but that does not mean we can't get some on the way down. This is a bad spot for the Bucs behind Rich Hill, a home run prone hurler. At Coors Field and with Kyle Freeland, the Rox' best starter on the hill, there is a lot to like with Colorado.

Underdog

San Diego Padres +125 (vs. Atlanta Braves)
The Braves are in better form. However, they are the fade tonight because lefty starter Max Fried is just getting back off the injured list and they were 1-3 against the Padres when they met earlier this month. Throw this series on the road and I am not sure you can really justify much more than a pick'em price either way. There is nice value here.

Prop

Texas Rangers Over 4.5 Runs (-120)
A similar bet was cashed on Friday with the Giants to get out first prop win. Texas is a heavy favorite at Kansas City tonight. With Jacob deGrom on the hill, they are over -200 and I like them to do some damage at the plate as well. They are going to be missing SS Corey Seager for a while and he is critical to their lineup but there is still enough quality remaining.
