MLB best bets, strikeout props for Tuesday 8/1: Get back on track with Zac

Monday clearly isn't our day over at strikeout prop city. I went 0-3 last Monday and 0-2 with an early scratch this week, but we still have plenty of time to scrape out a second straight winning week. Let's get back on track with my three favorite K props for Tuesday's MLB slate.

Ranger Suarez under 4.5 Ks (-128 FanDuel)

It hasn't been a great recent stretch for Ranger Suarez. After starting the season 2-2 with a 3.18 ERA in his first nine starts, the lefty has gone 0-3 in his last five starts and raised his ERA to 4.22. Suarez has the fifth-highest ERA among starters over the last 30 days, and now he has to face a Miami Marlins team that's recorded the second-fewest strikeouts in MLB against left-handed pitching. Miles Mikolas under 4.5 Ks (-155 DraftKings)

Miles Mikolas hasn't been much of a strikeout artist this season, and that's been especially true of late. In his last 11 starts, the right-hander has cleared this number just once. He hasn't even reached four strikeouts in four straight appearances, and he has the sixth-lowest strikeout-per-nine innings rate in MLB over the last month. Mikolas couldn't ask for a better matchup Tuesday, as the Minnesota Twins are the worst team in the league at avoiding strikeouts, but this number is still a tick too high.

Zac Gallen over 6.5 Ks (+106 FD)

The San Francisco Giants have been brutal on the offensive end since the All-Star break. San Fran has the lowest batting average in MLB over the last 15 days (.200), and their 132 strikeouts are the fourth-most in the league over that span. Zac Gallen should have plenty of success against this struggling lineup, and I trust him to clear this number as long as he reaches the seventh inning.
