MLB best bets: Shohei Ohtani among 3 strikeout props for Friday 7/14

It's been a long, uneventful week for all baseball bettors out there, but the All-Star break finally comes to a close Friday with a full slate of MLB games. Let's jump right back into the action with my three favorite strikeout props for the day.

Michael Kopech under 4.5 Ks (-140 DraftKings)

Fading nearly every pitcher going up against the Atlanta Braves worked just fine for us before the All-Star break, so let's go back to that strategy today. In the week leading into the break, the Braves ranked third in MLB in OPS (.865) and struck out just 7.9 times per game. On Friday, they get to face Chicago White Sox starter Michael Kopech, who's gone over this number just twice in his last four starts and hasn't gone beyond the fifth inning in that span. Take the under 4.5 here.

Tyler Glasnow over 7.5 Ks (-140 FanDuel)

Tyler Glasnow was on a roll before the All-Star break. The Tampa Bay Rays righty has struck out 31 batters over his last three starts and has given up only four earned runs in that span. One of those starts came against the same Kansas City Royals he'll see today, and he fanned a season-high 12 batters in that matchup. Glasnow should be able to keep it rolling against this unimpressive lineup.

Shohei Ohtani under 6.5 Ks (+100 DK)

It's always a scary proposition to fade possibly the best baseball player to ever walk this earth, but I think this is a decent spot to do so. Shohei Ohtani has gone under this number in four of his last six starts, and he recorded six Ks in his last start against the Houston Astros in early June. The Astros also had the fewest strikeouts per game (6.4) in the league in their 10 games leading up to the break. We'll take a shot on the under here.
