Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Mets signed utility infielder Danny Mendick and left-hander Joey Lucchesi to one-year deals on Thursday.

Mendick's deal is for $1 million. The Mets and Lucchesi were able to avoid arbitration.

In a corresponding move, the Mets released right-hander Yoan Lopez.

Mendick, 29, was non-tendered by the Chicago White Sox after tearing his ACL in June. He batted .289/.343/.443 with three home runs and 15 RBIs in 31 games before the injury. Mendick has mainly played second base and shortstop in his four-year major league career, with appearances at third and the outfield.

Lucchesi, 29, missed the entire 2022 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He went 1-4 with a 4.46 ERA in 11 games (eight starts) in 2021 for the Mets.

Lopez, 29, went 1-0 with a 5.73 ERA in eight relief appearances for the Mets in 2022.
