CJ Nitkowski never really lived up to expectations after he was taken with the ninth overall pick in the 1994 MLB Draft, and apparently that is something the former pitcher was reminded about by his wife during his playing days.
Nitkowski, who pitched for eight different teams over 10 MLB seasons, gave us a hilarious glimpse into his home life on Monday when he shared a zinger his wife threw at him. Nitkowski said his son had a rough pitching outing over the weekend, and here’s how his wife consoled the boy:
My wife had an odd way of comforting my son after a rough pitching outing yesterday, “Well, at least you still get to live in our house. When dad pitched bad we usually had to move.”

Nitkowski, who is now a TV broadcaster for the Texas Rangers, had to move plenty during his career. The left-hander was never in the same place for more than three seasons.
This isn’t the first time Nitkowski has provided an entertaining glimpse into his family life, and we hope it won’t be the last.
