San Diego Padres LHP Drew Pomeranz has not suited up for the franchise since the 2021 season. He has played just three minor league games in an attempt to finally make it back to the big league roster and just before a huge series against the San Fransisco Giants, he has been shut down once again.
The news was first reported by Kevin Acee of The San Diego-Union Tribune and it's another injury update that is not in Pomeranz's favor.
"Reliever Drew Pomeranz has been shut down after experiencing discomfort in his throwing arm during latest rehab appearance."

In his short stints with the Lake Elsinore Storm and El Paso Chihuahua's, he was able to post an ERA of 11.57 with just two innings played on 41 pitches. It is by no means the easiest comeback for him and these signs of discomfort are a scary sign.
Pomeranz was supposed to be a solid middle-innings pitcher for the friars due to his previous experience but an entire season missed with flexor tendon surgery and more injury woes is making that vision tough to come true.
On a more positive note, the Friars will be bringing up Brandon Dixon once again to fill out their roster for this road trip.

He likely will not see the field much, if it all, but any time spent with the big league squad is beneficial.
