The 14-year MLB veteran will primarily contribute to Cubs pre- and post-game coverage.

Just one day after announcing his retirement from baseball , former Chicago Cubs World Series champion Dexter Fowler has joined Marquee Sports Network as a studio analyst.

The 14-year MLB veteran will primarily contribute to Cubs pre- and post-game coverage.

Fowler has stated in the past that he still wants remain involved in baseball. What better way to do so than analyzing Cubs baseball? The former All-Star outfielder wasted no time getting to work at his new gig as he  made his debut appearance Wednesday night on Cubs 360.

“We’re pleased to welcome Dexter Fowler to the Marquee Sports Network team,” said Mike McCarthy, the network’s general manager. “We congratulate Dexter on an incredible playing career, highlighted by his integral role on the memorable 2015 and 2016 Cubs teams, and we look forward to being a part of the next chapter of his career.”

Dexter Fowler should bring a knowledgeable, lively brand of commentary to Chicago Cubs programming. He is a former teammate of manager David Ross, after all, so you can bet he has some good stories to tell.

Now if Opening Day would just hurry up and get here…
