The Reds beat the Guardians 4-0 in their Cactus League opener on Saturday afternoon.

Carson Spiers got the start today and performed well in his two innings of work. He struck out four and allowed three hits but didn't issue any walks.

Elly De La Cruz hit a single in his first at-bat while facing a 3-2 count. The Reds took over the game from that point.

Will Benson hit a home run in the fourth inning that gave Cincinnati the lead.

Tyler Callihan crushed a baseball, sending the ball far over the fence for another home run for the Reds. Many people have high hopes for Callihan and he flashed his potential on Saturday.

Edwin Arroyo also had a big moment in the field for the Reds as he used his high motor to produce a great play and a great throw. Arroyo is one of the Reds top prospects this season and could find himself having a big role sooner rather than later.

Brett Kennedy was another Reds pitcher who had a solid performance as he pitched two innings, giving up two hits and finishing with three strikeouts.

Fernando Cruz was awarded the win for the Reds as he pitched a single inning and gave up one hit.
