Braves continue to be well represented in MLB All-Star voting

The second update for MLB’s All-Star voting has been released today, and the Braves continue to be well represented.

The top vote getter remains Ronald Acuña. He’s been voted in well over 2 million times, with the next closest outfielder in the National League being Mookie Betts, who has accrued just over 1.4 million votes.

At the catcher position, Sean Murphy continues to pace the field. He’s been voted in over 1.3 million times, with Will Smith trailing behind him, hovering over 800,000 votes.

Orlando Arcia also continues to pace the field for National League shortstops. He’s accrued over 1 million votes, which is more than double the amount of Francisco Lindor, who is second among shortstops in the voting with just over 500,000 votes.

The Braves have a trio of players sitting in second at their respective positions as well. Ozzie Albies is on the heels of Luis Arraez, trailing the Marlins second baseman by less than 200,000 votes. Austin Riley sits right behind Nolan Arenado at third base in what might be the closest positional battle of the bunch. He trails by just over 100,000 votes. Finally, Matt Olson has vaulted into the second spot among National League first basemen. Although, he trails Freddie Freeman by nearly 1 million votes.

Others to watch out for are Michael Harris II, Marcell Ozuna, and Travis d’Arnaud. Currently, they are on the outside looking in, but with a few more votes, they could do enough to sneak into Phase 2 of the voting.

On June 22nd, the candidates for Phase 2 of the voting will be revealed. The top two at each position will move onto the final vote. The outfield will include six candidates. During that time, fans can vote one time each day over a 72-hour period. Phase 1 votes will not carry over, and the leading vote-getter at each position will be named the starter for their respective league.
