Braves Briefing: Atlanta receives good news after Ronald Acuña Jr. left game

After being struck with a 98 mph fastball from reliever Colin Holderman, Ronald Acuña left the game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

After he left, the Atlanta Braves put out an announcement that seems to be positive. 

In a tweet, the official Braves account said, "OF Ronald Acuña Jr. was removed from tonight’s game after being hit by a pitch on his left elbow. X-rays were negative."

This is the 44th time that Ronald Acuña Jr has been hit by a pitch in his career. 

The Braves would go on to beat the Pirates 8-6 Tuesday night.

Yonny Chirinos didn't have as good a night, serving up four gopher balls to a relatively light-hitting Bucs lineup. What's next for the Atlanta Braves

The same two teams are back at it again tonight, with first pitch again scheduled for 7:05 Eastern at PNC Park. Max Fried (3-1, 1.69 ERA, 2.58 FIP) makes his second start since coming off the IL, and he'll hope to carry over the dominant form he showed at Wrigley Field on Friday. The Pirates counter with rookie righty Quinn Priester (2-1, 8.69 ERA, 7.24 FIP), who'll be making his fifth career start. The teams will play again on Thursday afternoon before the Braves play four games in three days against the diminished Mets in Queens.
