The Chicago White Sox can’t catch a break on the injury front this season. Shortly after Danny Mendick exited Wednesday’s game early with an injury, Adam Engel followed suit.

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what happened to Engel. However, something clearly wasn’t right during his at-bat in the bottom of the third inning. The speedy outfielder appeared to be in pain, favoring his right leg, before striking out swinging for the first out of the inning.

When the White Sox took the field for the top of the fourth inning, AJ Pollock replaced Engel and moved to left field. Adam Haseley started the game in left but moved to right as the Sox shuffled their defense.

The Chicago White Sox say Adam Engel is dealing with right hamstring soreness. He is currently undergoing further evaluation.
