Angels Agree On 2024 Salaries With Four Arbitration-Eligible Players

Outfielder Taylor Ward and pitcher Jose Suarez were the only players who did not reach agreements prior to the 10 a.m. deadline. 

Ward made $2.75 million last season and was projected to get a raise to $4.5 million by MLBTradeRumors.com.

Suarez made $750,000 last season and was projected to get a bump to $1.1 million in his first year of arbitration eligibility by MLBTradeRumors.com.

The deadline is a soft one, as players and teams can continue to negotiate past the deadline and up to the day of their scheduled hearings. 

If they fail to reach agreements today, the team and the player will submit a proposed 2024 salary, and a three-person arbitration panel will decide their salary after hearing from both sides. Typically those hearings are conducted in late January and early February.

The Angels have not gone to arbitration with a player since Jered Weaver in 2011. Weaver lost the hearing.
