Albert Pujols Has Taken Home A Truly Legendary Award
Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Albert Pujols came back to St. Louis with one goal in mind, to help the St. Louis Cardinals win a World Series title.

While the Cards did not accomplish that goal, Pujols at least got to live out a moment he’ll never forget.

In Los Angeles, on September 23, Pujols hit home run No. 700 of his career, forever etching his name in the history books.

What made it even more special was that he got to share the moment with all of his Cardinals teammates, including mainstays Adam Wainwright and Yadier Molina.

This morning, Pujols received the “Legendary Moment” Award presented by Budweiser.

Pujols Earns Special Honor

The legend of Pujols will live on for centuries.

Fans in St. Louis and all over the world who got a chance to see him play should consider themselves fortunate.

The future Hall-of-Famer always had a knack for coming through in big moments and delivering key hits when it mattered most.

And it certainly mattered that night in Los Angeles.

Pujols had already gone deep in that game and had moved to within one home run of 700 for his career.

It didn’t take long for The Machine to get locked in that night at Dodger Stadium.

Home run No. 700 seemed like a reach early in the season.

As late as July 6, Pujols was hitting for a lackluster .189 average and had only hit four home runs.

But soon, the slugger got going again, and it all culminated in a legendary moment and an award for such a historic accomplishment.
