The PGA Tour adds another dose of team play to its agenda with the 2023 Zurich Classic of New Orleans this weekend. And while the favored pairs will get plenty of attention when they tee off at TPC Louisiana, there are two rather notorious PGA figures making a surprise appearance -- and they have the longest odds at topping the leaderboard on Sunday.
Former major winners David Duval and John Daly will make up a surprise duo at the event down Avondale, playing together on a "sponsor's exemption" according to Golf Digest. Duval's best finish in four starts on the PGA Tour Champions this season was a T-31, while Daly's best finish in three starts is T-38. Outside of Duval's third-place showing in this event in 1995, neither golfer has played particularly well at the Zurich Classic.
So perhaps it's no wonder the Daly-Duval duo is a 1000-1 long shot at DraftKings in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans field.
We have an all-star pairing at Zurich this week.

• John Daly
• David Duval
Daly hasn't made a cut on the PGA Tour since 2019.
Duval hasn't made a cut on the PGA Tour since 2015.
Would love to see them make a cut.
Suffice it to say, Daly and Duval likely won't be going toe-to-toe -- or is it tee-to-tee? -- with defending champs Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay, who are the 4-1 favorites at DK as of Monday. But while we likely won't be putting money on the intriguing pair, there's no denying fans will tune in to watch how they play.
The Zurich Classic of New Orleans tees off on Thursday.
