Here's where Rory McIlroy is expected to finish at the Wells Fargo Championship

After missing the cut at the Masters and having to pay a hefty fine for skipping out on the RBC Heritage, we haven't heard much from Rory McIlroy. That all changes this week when the world No. 3 returns to the links to compete in the Wells Fargo Championship.

So after a few weeks away from the competition, where do oddsmakers expect McIlroy to finish at Quail Hollow?

Despite having a rollercoaster campaign so far in 2023, McIlroy is the favorite at DraftKings to win the Wells Fargo Championship next weekend and is currently listed at 15/2. He isn't the only top-10 golfer in the world to be listed favorably, however as No. 4 Patrick Cantlay is currently 12-1 in the field. Tony Finau, fresh off his three-stroke win over John Rahm at the Mexico Open last weekend, is listed at 14-1, while world No. 5 Xander Schauffele comes in at 16-1 and No. 10 Jordan Spieth is listed at 18-1.

Defending champion Max Homa -- who is looking to rebound from missing the cut at consecutive events -- is a 22-1 long shot.

Speaking of Rahm, he will not be competing this weekend following a jam-packed schedule he has kept up since January. However, his spot atop the official world golf ranking should stay very much intact even if McIlroy ends up topping the leaderboard on Sunday.

The Wells Fargo Championship gets underway on Thursday, May 4, with tee times yet to be announced.
