Golf legend Gary Player has some rather negative opinions of LIV Golf and the newest defectors from the PGA Tour.
This week another group of golfers, led by No. 2 ranked Cameron Smith, jumped to the Saudi-backed league. In an interview with the BBC, Player addressed those golfers, mainly Smith, while taking plenty of shots at LIV Golf.
Player, a Golf Saudi ambassador, said LIV Golf has "declared war" on the PGA Tour, adding he wouldn't take "a billion dollars" in place of his nine majors.
"It's a tour for people who don't have confidence in their future," Player said. "They don't have the confidence they can be winners."
"It's never going to compare to the regular tour. No chance."

Player also singled out Smith, calling him a "potential superstar" who got the "wrong advice" from people around him.
"Here's a young man I really thought was going to be a superstar," Player said. "Now, what sort of future does he have?"
