South Carolina is still trying to steal an elite recruit from Tennessee

The South Carolina Gamecocks aren't giving up in their pursuit of a four-star wide receiver that's been committed to the Tennessee Vols since June.

2024 four-star wide receiver Braylon Staley, 6-foot/180 lbs from Johnston, SC, is continuing to receive heavy interest from the Gamecocks.

South Carolina wide receivers coach Justin Stepp made an in-home visit with Staley earlier this week.

Staley, who is the No. 2 rated player in the state of South Carolina, visited Tennessee earlier this season for the Vols' 41-20 win against the Gamecocks. South Carolina offered Staley a few days later (which was quite late in the recruiting process -- especially considering that Staley is from South Carolina).

Tennessee wide receivers coach Kelsey Pope and offensive coordinator Joey Halzle visited Staley a couple of days before Stepp's visit.

Staley appears to be solidly committed to the Vols, but it's clear that South Carolina is trying to make this a battle until the very end (which will come later this month when the early signing period begins).
