Rasul Douglas Delivers Urgent Message To Packers Before Week 7
Dan Powers/USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin / USA TODAY NETWORK

Rasul Douglas and the Green Bay Packers are going into what may very well be a must-win scenario when they take on the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

The Packers have lost their last two games to fall to 2-3 on the season. They are two-and-a-half games by the Detroit Lions for first place in the NFC North, and given the fact that the Broncos are just 1-5, Green Bay probably needs to win this contest, even if it’s on the road.

Packers cornerback Rasul Douglas is preaching a sense of urgency to his team ahead of Week 7.

“I mean, we haven’t won in a month. (Expletive). We ain’t win since the 24th or something like that of September? What’s today? It’s the 20th? That’s a month. You know what I mean? So we haven’t felt victory in a while and I’m tired of coming in here and everybody sad,” Douglas said, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.

Douglas would be correct. The Packers’ last victory indeed came on Sept. 24, when they topped the New Orleans Saints in a thrilling come-from-behind win. Since then, Green Bay has lost to the Lions and the Las Vegas Raiders before having a Week 6 bye.

The mood surrounding the Packers has certainly changed over the past several weeks, as young quarterback Jordan Love has thrown one touchdown and five interception over his last two games after totaling seven touchdowns and just one pick over his first three contests.

Additionally, Green Bay’s rushing attack has struggled, and that is due much in part to running back Aaron Jones battling a hamstring injury.

The Packers will have a golden opportunity to move back over .500 over these next two weeks, as their next couple of opponents (the Broncos and the Minnesota Vikings) have a combined record of 3-9.
