Chicago Bulls waive Derrick Favors, likely to play for the Windy City Bulls

Derrick Favours last appeared on the NBA court as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder during the 2021-22 season. During that season, he appeared in 39 games, averaging 5.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game while posting an excellent field goal percentage of 51.6%.

3rd overal pick

Favours spent the most recent season on a ten-day deal with the Atlanta Hawks, although he did not appear in any games. Derrick had a 12-year NBA career that included stops with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Utah Jazz, New Orleans Pelicans, and New Jersey Nets.

Former 3rd overall pick player in 790 regular-season games, and averaged 10.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game, with a remarkable field goal percentage of 53.4%. The 32-year-old has also gained extensive playoff experience, having played in 42 NBA playoffs games, rounding out his basketball resume.

G-League is the next move for Favours

He is expected to join the Chicago Bulls, will be a player to watch in the coming months. If he performs well in the G League, he might earn a ten-day deal not only with the Bulls, but also with other interested teams.
