Tilda Swinton pranked Timothée Chalamet during ‘The French Dispatch’ ovation at Cannes

Timothée Chalamet was the talk of the red carpet for donning a metallic Tom Ford suit to the Cannes Film Festival premiere of The French Dispatch , but Tilda Swinton thought he needed an accessory to complete the look.

During The French Dispatch's nine-minute standing ovation, Swinton stuck the paper sign that had been reserving her seat onto Chalamet's back:

It was just a silly prank, sure, but it's also quite the feat for Swinton to get laughs in a room also occupied by Bill Murray.

Wes Anderson's The French Dispatch boasts a cast so star-studded that to name them all would be a run-on sentence. Alongside Chalamet, Murray and Swinton are Adrien Brody, Owen Wilson, Elisabeth Moss, Frances McDormand, Benico Del Toro, Willem Dafoe, Edward Norton, Liev Schreiber, Saoirse Ronan, Henry Winkler, and somehow, more

The period drama is "a love letter to journalists set in an outpost of an American newspaper in a fictional 20th century French city that brings to life a collection of stories published in The French Dispatch Magazine" (h/t IMDb).

Audiences in the United States will finally be able to see it in theaters beginning Oct. 22. Watch the trailer below.
