Sarah Jessica Parker 'definitely' wants another season of 'And Just Like That'

And Just Like That... has been positioned as HBO Max's limited series revival of Sex and the City, but there's hope beyond this week's finale.

When asked by Variety, Sarah Jessica Parker said she "definitely" wants to continue making AJLT.

"[Showrunner] Michael [Patrick King] and I spoke two weeks ago, and said: ‘OK, when are we going to talk about this?'" explained the star actress best known for portraying Carrie Bradshaw since SATC's 1998 inception. "Because there's a calendar, and you don't want to let too much time pass. There feels like there's momentum."

AJLT premiered Dec. 9 and started with a bang, killing off Mr. Big—played by the since-disgraced Chris Noth, who will no longer be featured in the finale episode.

"I wanted the show to be focused on the stories of these amazing actresses and their efforts in these last 10 episodes," King told Variety of the decision to cut Noth's scenes. "And I didn’t want the entire story to be about whether someone was or wasn't in the show. Mr. Big and Chris Noth, they’re not the same person—and that would’ve made them the same person."

While SJP, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon reprised their roles of Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda, respectively, Kim Cattrall adamantly distanced herself from her Samantha character and SATC long before AJLT begun.

"It was a big day for me as a writer when I realized that even though Kim Cattrall didn’t want to be in the series, Samantha could be—because of texting," King told Variety. "I was like, 'Right! Samantha can be in the show.' Because she should be: She’s part of the show and people love her. And I wanted to respect the legacy, wanted to respect the fans."

The final episode will hit HBO Max Thursday (Feb. 3). Watch the teaser below.
