Ryan Reynolds on Taylor Swift using his daughters' names in 'Betty': 'We trust her implicitly'

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have three daughters: James, Inez and Betty. They aren't old enough to fully comprehend it yet, but one of the greatest musicians of all time used their names in one of her songs.

Reynolds discussed how it feels to hear his children's names in Taylor Swift's Folklore track "Betty" on SiriusXM recently:

"The names [in the song] are the names of our kids, but we trust her implicitly, and she's very sensitive to any of that stuff," the 44-year-old actor said. "Obviously, the song has nothing to do with our kids other than our kids' names, but I mean, what an honor. We thought it was pretty damn amazing. We still do. I still wander down the street and shake my head thinking, 'I can't believe that happened.'"

"We surprised them with it," the Deadpool star continued. "They didn't know. They had no idea. We don't tell them anything. We find they're most compliant if you offer them no access to outside information."

Reynolds and Lively, who married in September 2012, have been close friends of Swift's for years.

This isn't the first time the 31-year-old singer-songwriter drew inspiration from one of her friends' daughters. James was previously featured saying "gorgeous" on the Reputation track by the same name in 2017.

Folklore was released in July 2020 as Swift's eighth studio album, and it claimed Album of the Year at March's Grammys. "Betty" is the record's 14th track. Enjoy below.
