RuPaul makes Emmys history after 'RuPaul's Drag Race' claims best reality competition program

RuPaul's Drag Race beat out The Amazing Race, Nailed It!, Top Chef and The Voice to claim the best reality competition program prize at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday night.

The victory earned RuPaul, Drag Race's executive producer and host, his 11th Primetime Emmy overall, which makes the 60-year-old the winningest person of color in the history of the Emmys:

RuPaul is now the most-decorated Black artist since the #Emmys began in 1949.

The previous record-holder was cinematographer Donald A. Morgan (h/t Variety).

All of RuPaul's Emmy statuettes have come through RuPaul's Drag Race, which premiered in February 2009 and wrapped its 13th season in late April. RuPaul landed his first Emmy in 2016.
