Nick Cannon announces he's expecting his eighth child

Nick Cannon is expecting a baby boy with model Bre Tiesi, their first child together and Cannon's eighth child overall, as he shared on his eponymous daytime talk show Monday (Jan. 31).

The exciting news comes nearly two months after Cannon's youngest son, five-month-old Zen, died from a brain tumor. He shared the baby with Alyssa Scott.

"I have a lot of children, and I love them all. Dearly, sincerely," Cannon said. "Every single one of my children are just as special as the other. It's never a competition. Parents know what I mean when I talk about the love that you have for a child—whether it's a child that's here, whether it's a child that's no longer here, whether it's a child that's grown, whether it's a child that's about to be here. It doesn't matter how many you have. It's this unconditional love."

The 41-year-old also shared that he had known about Tiesi's pregnancy before Zen's death.

"We didn't expect Zen to pass away," Cannon said. "All of the news was so unexpected, so to figure out a chronological order or hierarchy, it kept me up at night. I always talk about the guilty I feel in losing Zen and how to deal with this for my other children, and that was a lot of the guilt as well. The guilt for everyone involved."

Cannon shares 10-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, with ex-wife Mariah Carey. He later welcomed son Golden in February 2017 and daughter Powerful in December 2020 with ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell. Last June, Abby De La Rosa gave birth to twins Zion and Zillion around the same time Zen was born.
