Miranda Kerr calls ex-husband Orlando Bloom 'a brother,' gushes over Katy Perry

Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom have moved on and are happier than ever apart, but Kerr is still  fond of her ex-husband—and even more so of his fiancée (or maybe wife?) Katy Perry.

Kerr and Bloom were married from 2010-13. The exes have a 10-year-old son named Flynn, and co-parenting between Kerr and her husband, Evan Spiegel, and Bloom and Perry couldn't be going any better.

"We go on holidays together. We celebrate all the important milestones together," Kerr said during the newest episode of the Moments with Candace Parker podcast. "I mean, I really, I love [Perry]. It'd be safe to say I love her more than Flynn's dad. But he's like, to me, right now, he's like a brother—and most the time, an annoying brother. So, she helps me deal with him because she can deal with him, and I'm so grateful that she's there because it just takes the pressure off me."

The 38-year-old Australian supermodel and KORA Organics businesswoman also detailed the first time she met Perry, who was first linked to Bloom in 2016 and became engaged to the 44-year-old actor on Valentine's Day 2019.

"When Orlando started dating Katy, I remember he invited me over one time, and she was there, and we just immediately got along," Kerr said. "I saw how she was with Flynn. She was very playful with Flynn. She was not trying to be his mum. She was just being friendly and kind, and that's all you can ask for. I was like, 'Wow, this is awesome.' And so, we hung out by the pool at his house in Malibu, and then there was a little party up the road, and we all went to it together, and it was like, wow, this is great."

Earlier in the episode, Kerr explained that her separation and subsequent divorce from Bloom was ultimately in the best interest of Flynn, who was not yet two years old at the time: "He had always been very vocal at a young age, and I remember before we even separated, he was like, 'Daddy, don't look at Mummy like that!' He was always very protective, and I was like, 'That's kind of a sign that's not the right thing.' And then we just realized having two happy parents separated is more important for our child than two unhappy parents together."

Kerr admitted she "never thought" she would fall in love again nor have more kids after her relationship with Bloom ended, but she met Spiegel in 2014 and married the Snapchat co-founder in May 2017. They share sons Hart, 3, and Myles, 1½.

"I love being a boy mum, and I secretly always wanted three boys," the first Australian Victoria's Secret Angel told Parker. "It's so interesting. ... Since I was little girl, which was kind of weird, I said, 'I'm gonna have my first baby at 27.' And it was my 27th birthday, and I said to my friend, 'It's crazy because it's my 27th birthday, and I'm not pregnant.' I had said I always felt like I was gonna have my first child at 27. How crazy is that? That's so funny. That's kind of the furthest thing away from my mind because it was like the height of my career, and two weeks later, I found out I was pregnant. I think I was pregnant on my actual 27th birthday."

On top of being a big brother to Hart and Myles, Flynn also has a little sister. Bloom and Perry welcomed their first child, Daisy Dove Bloom, last August.
