Julia Louis-Dreyfus is 'a darker Nick Fury' in 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' according to producer

Julia Louis-Dreyfus made her surprise debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the latest episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier as Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine (you can just call her Val). Val showed up unexpectedly to make a vague but slightly shady offer to John Walker after he is stripped of his title as Captain America.

What should we expect from Val as we move towards the final episode of the season? According to Marvel Studios producer Nate Moore, Val is sort of like Nick Fury without all the pesky commitment to justice.

"Whenever we talked about Valentina, even in the writer's room, she was sort of a more acerbic, funnier, but darker Nick Fury," he told Marvel.com. "Someone who knows her secrets, who's not afraid to operate in the moral gray area, but maybe who isn't as inherently altruistic."

While we don't know exactly what to expect from Val moving forward, Moore's comments certainly seem to suggest she could play a larger role in the MCU moving forward. Val has a rich history in the Marvel comics as a morally ambiguous agent of espionage, which is certainly an apt description of what we have seen of her so far.
