Johnny Knoxville on his 'Jackass' future: 'I put my family through enough'

Jackass is forever, but Johnny Knoxville probably won't keep adding to the franchise.

Jackass Forever is due in theaters Friday (Feb. 4) and features a stunt in which Knoxville was trampled by a bull—suffering a concussion, a broken wrist and broken ribs. (The scary moment was detailed in this May profile by GQ.)

"My doctor said I can't take another shot to the head, I've had so many concussions," Knoxville told People. "I put my family through enough, quite honestly. I don't think I have anything else to prove."

The 50-year-old actor, filmmaker and stuntman shares 26-year-old daughter Madison with his ex-wife Melanie Lynn Clapp as well as 12-year-old Rocko and 10-year-old daughter Arlo with Naomi Nelson, his wife of 11 years.

"My son, he's got the same gene that my father had and I think that I have, so I definitely want to keep him out of it," Knoxville added, referencing his knack for seeking out adrenaline and danger. "I made it very clear to him he won't be going into the family business."

Jackass Forever is the fourth and presumably final installment in the movie franchise that began with Jackass: The Movie (2002) after the original television series run on MTV from 2000-02. Jackass Number Two hit the big screens in 2006, followed by Jackass 3D in 2010.
