Jodie Turner-Smith proposed to Joshua Jackson: 'She was quite adamant'

Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson's marriage is a true partnership.

Jackson stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night (July 19) to promote his new Peacock original series Dr. Death, but he was more keen on gushing over Turner-Smith and their 15-month-old daughter.

"I think there are whole server farms dedicated to just pictures of my baby now," the 43-year-old joked. "It's amazing how many pictures you can take of one baby. She gets pasta sauce on her face, we need 10,000 of those. Checked into the hotel last night, first thing I did was like, 'Hey, did you know I had a baby? Have you seen my baby? She's super cute!' I know all parents think their kids are super cute, but my kid is really super cute."

Fallon asked if or when Jackson knew if he and Turner-Smith "were destined," and the former Mighty Ducks and Dawson's Creek star let slip exactly how their marriage came to be.

"I knew the moment she asked me," he said. "She asked me, yeah. On New Year's Eve. We were in Nicaragua. It was very beautiful, incredibly romantic. We're walking down the beach, and she asked me to marry her. There was a preamble. There was a lead-up to it. I did not know [she was going to propose], but she was quite adamant, and she was right. This is the best choice I ever made."

Turner-Smith, known for dazzling in Queen & Slim (2019), hasn't been shy about Jackson formerly being her first on-screen crush as Pacey Witter on Dawson's Creek long before he became her husband:

The 34-year-old actress and model appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers in early May, where the origins of her relationship with Jackson came up in conversation (4-minute mark):

Jackson grew into more than just the kid who played Pacey and Charlie Conway, though. He has most recently starred in The Affair, Little Fires Everywhere, and now, Dr. Death. The latter premiered last week and also stars Alec Baldwin and Christian Slater.
