Hilary Duff shares photo from set of 'How I Met Your Father'

Hilary Duff wrapped Younger earlier this year, and she's jumping right into How I Met Your Father.

The 33-year-old actress, singer and writer shared a photo of her as her character Sophie from the set of the How I Met Your Mother spinoff series Wednesday (Sept. 1):

Created by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, How I Met Your Father was given a straight-to-series order by Hulu in late April.

"It is a long road to air for the project," Deadline relayed at the time. "Back in 2014, HIMYM creators Craig Thomas & Carter Bays and Emily Spivey wrote a pilot for CBS that starred Greta Gerwig and Drew Tarver, but it wasn’t picked up. Two and a half years later, Aptaker and Berger created a new take, but after the pair were elevated to co-showrunners of NBC’s This Is Us they were no longer available. Studio 20th Television tried again in the 2017-18 development season with You’re the Worst writer Alison Bennett, but again it did not move forward."

This time around, we're guaranteed at least 10 episodes of the new Duff-led spinoff.

How I Met Your Mother ran for nine seasons on CBS, concluding in 2014. The original series followed Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) as he retells the story of how he met their mother to his children, narrated by Bob Saget. The original ensemble cast was rounded out by Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders and Alyson Hannigan.

It seems to be a safe assumption that Duff's Sophie is the new Ted Mosby. The new cast will also include Daniel Augustin, Chris Lowell, Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran and Josh Peck.

Let's just pray that this spinoff fares better than the ill-fated Lizzie McGuire reboot.
