HBO releases teaser trailer For “House Of The Dragon”

It has been nearly three years since the iconic series went off the air and left fans with mixed emotions. Now, the world of Game of Thrones returns with the first of several prequel series, this one is set to tell some of the histories of the Targaryen family.

HBO released the first look at House Of The Dragon in a teaser trailer today. Check out the trailer below:

Set 200 years before Game of Thrones, House Of The Dragon will of course focus on a whole new set of Targaryens. The biggest names in the cast are Matt Smith and Rhys Ifans. Smith, the former Doctor from Doctor Who, portrays Prince Daemon Targaryen. He is the brother of King Viserys I Targaryen (played by Paddy Considine). Daemon is described as “a peerless warrior and dragonrider”.

Ifans, who many superhero fans are looking forward to seeing return in Spider-Man: No Way Home, plays Ser Otto Hightower. He’s described as “the Hand of the King, who serves Viserys and the realm. He is a political rival of Daemon”.

The show will also focus on Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, the daughter of King Viserys. She is a dragonrider as well and expects to become the first ruling queen of the Seven Kingdoms. Rounding out the cast is Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, and Sonoya Mizuno, among others.

No release date is set for House Of The Dragon, so we will have to wait for more information from HBO. Are you excited to get back into the world of Game of Thrones with a new prequel?
