Elvis Presley's iconic white jumpsuit and cape are up for auction with approval from Priscilla Presley

If your dream is to recreate Elvis Presley's 1972 glory days at Madison Square Garden by performing in your living room wearing the same white eyelet jumpsuit and accompanying eyelet cape, then all you'll need to do is shell out at least $400,000.

And if you're not willing to spend that much, then were you ever really an Elvis stan in the first place?

Jokes aside, Kruse GWS Auctions has placed Presley's original white eyelet jumpsuit and eyelet cape up for auction, which can be seen here. The opening bid for the jumpsuit sits at $350,000, and the cape's $45,000, with live bidding set to begin Saturday (Sept. 4).

The description of the iconic eyelet jumpsuit provides necessary historical context:

"Elvis Presley's Stage Worn Madison Square Garden Eyelet Jumpsuit W/COA - This iconic studded jumpsuit is a once in a lifetime chance to own a piece of Elvis Presley, and a monumental part of the superstar's first live concerts in New York since he began his career in the 1950s. This jumpsuit was worn by Elvis during his 1972 engagement at Madison Square Garden in New York City, a series of four performances which took place from June 9th to 11th. It is said that the fact that Elvis had not been well received in the Big Apple during his early career caused some worry between his team, however these worries were unfounded, as the series turned out to be extremely successful and Elvis became the first person to sell out four consecutive shows at the venue. This jumpsuit comes with a certificate of authenticity from the Elvis Presley museum signed by Jimmy Velvet, which states in part, 'Elvis Presley's Stage Jumpsuit, worn at the Madison Square Garden Concert.' This jumpsuit was previously sold at auction in 1995 and has not been offered to the public since. There is arguably nothing more synonymous with Elvis than his famous jumpsuits, and very few become available on the open market."

The auction additionally features a $1 bill signed by Presley and Johnny Cash, Presley's "Viva Las Vegas" racing helmet and more memorabilia. Perhaps the most personal item up for auction is a private Beverly Hills luncheon with Priscilla Presley, who was married to Elvis from 1967-73.

"I used to have a different opinion about these estate sales, but then as I got older I realized that you have to pass these things down to someone who'll really appreciate them," Priscilla Presley told People. The publication also noted that portions of the luncheon auction will go to the Dream Foundation as a tribute to Priscilla's mother, Ann, after her Aug. 2 death at 95 years old.

Priscilla spoke in more detail about her relationship with the late King of Rock & Roll in an exclusive feature for People's newest issue that hit newsstands Friday (Sept. 3). The couple shared one daughter, Lisa Marie Presley.

"My God, I had to learn everything," said the 76-year-old actress, who first met Elvis when she was only 14 years old and married him when she was 21 and he was 32. "Women gravitated to him, so I would be nervous when he had to go places alone. I would even go with him to get his teeth cleaned! I always had an eye on him because everyone in the world was after him."

Elvis died in August 1977 at age 42 from a heart condition that has been speculatively linked over the years to his longstanding prescription pill addiction.
