Chris Noth officially reprising Mr. Big role in 'Sex and the City' revival series

Chris Noth will officially be reprising Mr. Big role in 'Sex and the City' revival series

How can you revive Sex and the City without Mr. Big?

You can't.

And HBO Max apparently recognized that, according to The Hollywood Reporter: "Chris Noth has closed a deal to return to the HBO Max revival, titled And Just Like That. The actor will reprise his role as Carrie’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) love interest. It’s unclear though if The Good Wife alum and The Equalizer star will be a series regular on the 10-episode half-hour series."

Sex and the City originally ran for six seasons from 1998 to 2004 on HBO. The acclaimed series, created by Darren Star, became a pop culture zeitgeist—earning two spinoff feature-length movies in 2008 and '10. Noth played Mr. Big throughout the series and finally ended up with Carrie in the series finale. He also had roles in both films.

And Just Like That will reunite SJP with Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon as Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda respectively. Noticeably absent will be Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones, but that shouldn't come as any surprise because of how publicly Cattrall's falling out with her former co-stars has been.

John Corbett confirmed in April he will reprise his role as Aidan Shaw in some capacity for the show, and former Grey's Anatomy star Sara Ramírez was added to the cast earlier this month (h/t Deadline):

"And Just Like That… follows Carrie (Parker), Miranda (Nixon) and Charlotte (Davis) navigating the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s. The 10-episode, half-hour series is scheduled to begin production this summer in New York. "Ramírez will play new character Che Diaz (they/them), a non-binary, queer stand-up comedian who hosts a podcast on which Carrie Bradshaw is regularly featured. Che is a big presence with a big heart whose outrageous sense of humor and progressive, human overview of gender roles has made them and their podcast very popular."

The limited series reboot was first reported by Variety then confirmed by SJP in January:

And Just Like That does not have a premiere date, as noted by THR
