Bowen Yang couldn't contain his excitement when Taylor Swift visited 'SNL': 'I stood outside her dressing room'

"I got to meet her at promos on [that] Thursday," Yang, 31, explained. "When you're shooting promos for the episode, you do that on Thursday. People at SNL threw me a bone, said that, 'You can stand next to her.' It was a huge deal. I got to tell her in an improvised line in a promo that her song 'Treacherous' is the sound of falling in love, which I believe to be true."

"I stood outside of her dressing room after the show on Saturday," he continued. "I was not sure whether or not to knock on her door because sometimes, they say, 'Don't meet your heroes.' She's a hero. And she was lovely all week, but I was like, you know, after the show, she's probably riding high. She doesn't want to talk to the riffraff like me. And so, I finally knocked on her door. She couldn't have been nicer. I said, 'I don't normally do this, but can we please take a picture?"

Yang made history with his Emmy nomination earlier this year and was elevated from featured player to regular cast member for Season 47, which premiered Oct. 2.

The final SNL  episode of 2021 is set for Saturday (Dec. 18) with Paul Rudd hosting, his fifth time doing so, and Charli XCX as musical guest.
