'No Strings Attached' by NSYNC

'No Strings Attached' by NSYNC
NSYNC

NSYNC's third album, No Strings Attached, is still one of my favorites! It was the best-selling album of the year and is ranked on Billboard's "Top 200 Albums of All Time." We'll never say "Bye Bye Bye" to this 2000s boy band classic.

'Can't Take Me Home' by Pink

'Can't Take Me Home' by Pink
Pink

For years, I was so sure that Mizunderstood was Pink's debut album, but Can't Take Me Home should not be overlooked! It gave us some of the best bangers of the early 2000s with "There You Go," "Most Girls," and "You Make Me Sick." Perfect for blasting in your car. Or wherever you want. No rules here.

'We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes' by Death Cab for Cutie

'We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes' by Death Cab for Cutie
Death Cab for Cutie

I know it's hard to believe that Death Cab for Cutie had three whole albums, including We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes, before breaking ground with Transatlanticism, but they are not to be slept on. The band's second record is an indie rock fan's dream and deserves to be celebrated.

'Infest' by Papa Roach

'Infest' by Papa Roach
Papa Roach

"Last Resort," anyone? Papa Roach's second album, Infest, is the band's most successful album to date, and for good reason. It's a staple of the nu-metal genre that, even after all these years, people can't seem to get enough of.

'Oops!... I Did It Again' by Britney Spears

'Oops!... I Did It Again' by Britney Spears
Britney Spears

Man, there must be something to these second albums. History was made with the release of Britney Spears' Oops!... I Did It Again. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that it's one of the best-selling albums of all time, but hey, I just did. All hail, Queen Britney.

'Mad Season' by Matchbox Twenty

'Mad Season' by Matchbox Twenty
Matchbox Twenty

Matchbox Twenty's debut album, Yourself or Someone Like You, was a tough act to follow, but Mad Season had success. I'm a sucker for a good Matchbox Twenty/Rob Thomas song, so I appreciated their change in sound and still really enjoy listening to "If You're Gone" when I'm feeling particularly emo.

'The Marshall Mathers LP' by Eminem

The Marshall Mathers LP is one of Eminem's best albums ever. Hands down. Not only did "The Real Slim Shady" change lives, but it won a Grammy Award along with the album for Best Rap Album.

Modest Mouse

As someone who had really only heard "Float On" by Modest Mouse, I wasn't sure what to expect with the rest of the band's discography, but I really enjoyed The Moon & Antarctica. The album has ranked on various best-of lists and is an indie rock classic.

'Country Grammar' by Nelly

'Country Grammar' by Nelly
Nelly

Nelly made quite the impression with his debut album in 2000. Country Grammar was an essential part of hip-hop music in the early 2000s that proved he was here to stay.

'Parachutes' by Coldplay

'Parachutes' by Coldplay
Coldplay

Can you believe that Parachutes is Coldplay's debut album? With a seemingly never-ending list of accolades, including a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album, it's one of the band's best-selling records and one we never really get tired of hearing.

'Music' by Madonna

Madonna

I love this era of Madonna. Music's electronic dance-y vibe definitely contributed to the album's success, and according to Rolling Stone, it's one of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time."

'Bridging the Gap' by Black Eyed Peas

Black Eyed Peas

I never knew the BEPs before Fergie, so going back in time was a fun little journey. Bridging the Gap was the group's second album and featured the likes of Macy Gray, Wyclef Jean, Mos Def, and more.

'Kid A' by Radiohead

Radiohead

Kid A marked a departure from Radiohead's usual rock sound. It won Best Alternative Album at the Grammys that year and is regarded as one of the best albums ever by numerous publications.

'Warning' by Green Day

Green Day

Warning was a little different from what we were used to with Green Day at the time, but it was still good! I think Green Day fans can appreciate this era despite it not being their best work.

'American III: Solitary Man' by Johnny Cash

Johnny Cash

The second-to-last album Johnny Cash released before his death, American III: Solitary Man, features covers of Tom Petty's "I Won't Back Down" and U2's "One." His cover of Neil Diamond's "Solitary Man" won a Grammy for Best Male Country Vocal Performance in 2001.

'Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water' by Limp Bizkit

'Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water' by Limp Bizkit
Eileen Blass-USA TODAY

There's no 2000s without Limp Bizkit, right? The band's third album, Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water, was relatively successful at the time. It's an album you either love or hate. Though I'm not a huge fan, if I could only save one song from the album, "Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle)" would have to be it.

'Hybrid Theory' by Linkin Park

'Hybrid Theory' by Linkin Park
Linkin Park

Linkin Park's debut album, Hybrid Theory, was something else. You're telling me "One Step Closer," "Crawling," "Papercut," and "In the End" all came from this album?! It's one of the best rap metal albums to exist and is listed in 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

'Whoa, Nelly!' by Nelly Furtado

'Whoa, Nelly!' by Nelly Furtado
Nelly Furtado

I remember Whoa, Nelly! being one of those must-have albums in the year 2000. "I'm Like a Bird," anyone? It was a little different from the pop music we had heard around that time, making it a standout album, and the name Nelly Furtado was one we would never forget.

'My Kind of Christmas' by Christina Aguilera

'My Kind of Christmas' by Christina Aguilera
Christina Aguilera

My Kind of Christmas is the only Christmas album from 2000 that matters. Nothing compares. I don't know what will happen if I don't listen to it every year, but I am not willing to find out. Christina Aguilera's first Spanish album, Mi Reflejo, was also released just a month before, so you know Xtina was killing it.

'All That You Can't Leave Behind' by U2

'All That You Can't Leave Behind' by U2
U2

All That You Can't Leave Behind is one of U2's best works, having won several Grammy Awards in 2001 and 2002. The band's 10th album produced "Beautiful Day," which is considered by many critics to be one of the best songs of all time.

'Stankonia' by OutKast

'Stankonia' by OutKast
Outkast

OutKast's fourth album, Stankonia, gave us such hits as "Ms. Jackson," "So Fresh, So Clean," and "B.O.B." It won Best Rap Album at the Grammys and, unsurprisingly, ranks on many "greatest albums" lists.

'Forever' by Spice Girls

'Forever' by Spice Girls
Spice Girls

Forever was the Spice Girls' third and final album, aside from the group's Greatest Hits. It's okay to admit that this one was a bit of a dud, but without Geri, we kind of expected it. They tried, and we'll give them credit for that. Yep, it turns 24 this year.

'3LW' by 3LW

'3LW' by 3LW
3LW

3LW was hot for a hot second in the early 2000s. Their debut album gave us "Playas Gon' Play" and their most memorable song, "No More (Baby, I'ma Do Right)." The group showed much promise; it's a shame they slowly fizzled out after their second album, A Girl Can Mack.

'Black & Blue' by Backstreet Boys

'Black & Blue' by Backstreet Boys
Backstreet Boys

I started with a boy band, so I have to end with a boy band. Backstreet Boy's fourth album, Black & Blue, produced hits "The Shape of My Heart" and "The Call" (a.k.a. one of the best songs ever if you're me) and made history by selling over 5 million copies globally in its first week.
