Two Virginia football players earned ACC weekly honors for their efforts in UVA's thrilling 31-27 upset victory at No. 10 North Carolina on Saturday night in Chapel Hill. Senior wide receiver Malik Washington was named the ACC Receiver of the Week and junior linebacker James Jackson earned the nod as the ACC Linebacker of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.

Washington was named the top receiver in the ACC for the second time this season after recording his fifth 100-yard receiving game of the year. His 12 catches were the most by an ACC receiver this week and Washington tallied 115 yards and the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter. Washington currently leads the ACC in receptions (56), receiving yards (783) and receptions per game (8.0) and also ranks top five in the country in each of those three categories.

James Jackson made the game-sealing play in the final minute of regulation, diving to intercept Drake Maye's pass after Paul Akere hit the UNC quarterback from behind as he released the ball. In addition to the game-winning interception, Jackson also posted six tackles and two quarterback hurries. Jackson is the first Cavalier linebacker to win the award since Nick Jackson on October 31st of last season.
