Three ideal NFL Draft landing spots for QB Will Levis

Kentucky quarterback Will Levis is the latest signal-caller to declare for the 2023 NFL Draft.

He announced his decision on Wednesday.

The senior quarterback threw for 2,406 yards and 19 touchdowns during his final year as a Wildcat. He also threw 10 interceptions and had a 60.3 quarterback rating.

Levis is fourth overall on ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper's 2023 big board

That's behind Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud but ahead of Alabama quarterback Bryce Young and Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson.

"My comparison is Matthew Stafford," Kiper wrote. "Levis plays in a pro-style offense at Kentucky, and he's not going to need much time to adjust to the NFL. He can maneuver the pocket and throw on the run."

With plenty of quarterback-needy teams in the NFL, Levis will no doubt hear his name called during the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Here are three ideal fits for Levis next spring.

Detroit Lions

Why not replace Matthew Stafford with a player who projects to be the next Matthew Stafford? The Lions have been on a hot streak as of late, but they still look poised to replace quarterback Jared Goff sooner than later.

Levis could either sit a year behind Goff or jump right in and help Dan Campbell's Lions continue to be one of the upstart teams in the NFL.

Carolina Panthers

The Panthers desperately need a franchise quarterback. The team has built a solid defense and has pieces on offense like wideout D.J. Moore. It just needs someone competent to throw the ball.

Levis would walk right into Carolina as its starting quarterback. There would be sizeable pressure on Levis to perform early. If Kiper's opinion of him being league-ready holds, he should take to water sooner than later.

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts aren't likely to start quarterback Matt Ryan next year, leaving yet another gap at the position for Indianapolis. Levis would be an immediate fit, but Indy might have to move up to draft him.

The Colts have a great arsenal at their disposal in star running back Jonathan Taylor, wideouts Michael Pittman Jr. and Alec Pierce and tight end Jelani Woods. Levis would have plenty to work with if he landed in Indy.
