Deacon Hill had a brief run with the Wisconsin Badgers, but he was recruited out of high school as a four-star quarterback. After appearing in one game, he decided to redshirt his season, and entered the transfer portal to commit to the Iowa Hawkeyes earlier this year.

Former Wisconsin Badgers QB Gets into the Game

In his redshirt Sophomore season for the Iowa Hawkeyes, Deacon Hill isn’t the starting quarterback. He’s behind Cade McNamara for those honors. The Iowa Hawkeyes had a tough game where they lost 31-0 to the Penn State Nittany Lions. Both QBs appeared, and both of them, quite frankly, sucked. McNamara went 5 for 14 for 42 yards, and Deacon Hill went 1 for 2 for 14 yards. Unfortunately, the former Wisconsin Badgers commit was part of a turn over after taking over for McNamara and didn’t quite prove he was a better fit.

Needless to say, there were calls for Deacon Hill to be the starting quarterback from now on, and there were calls by fans on social media that Deacon Hill wasn’t that great.
