Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith is about to force Ryan Day to make a tough choice look easy

Ohio State has been churning out high-end wide receiver talent for years now but their best one yet may be in the loading state.

Freshman Jeremiah Smith is impressing so far in spring ball and things are looking like he may put head coach Ryan Day in a situation where a tough looks easy.

Starting as a freshman is tough at the Power Five level but it is even tougher at a premier college football school.

“If he continues on the path that he's on, he's going to play a lot of football and certainly would have a chance to start as well,” Day said on Saturday.

The Buckeyes hosted dozens of recruits for Student Appreciation Day, which always brings in a lot of recruits. The freshman phenom impressed Saturday with a lot of eyes on him.

“I'm going to be careful what I say,” Day said of Smith, “but he's certainly a pleasure to watch, and we're all very excited about his future.”

Ohio State is going to have to play the 6-foot-3 freshman right away simply because he is ready and well ahead of his time. Emeka Egbuka, Carnell Tate, and Brandon Inniss all will be factors as well.

The Buckeyes have a freshman star with a whole lot of hype around him that only seems to be building. It is just spring ball right now, wait to see what things are like when fall camp rolls around.
