Pro Football Hall of Famer and University of Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is scheduled to undergo emergency surgery early Friday morning to address a blood clot in his groin.
The news was confirmed by former NFL defensive back Adam "Pacman" Jones during Thursday's episode of "The Pat McAfee Show."

It was reported last week that Sanders was possibly going to have to have his left foot amputated because of blood flow problems in the area.
Jones told McAfee that he talked with "Coach Prime" on Thursday morning and that Friday's surgery was scheduled for 6 a.m.
This is far from the first scary health situation that Sanders has faced, as he's also had two toes on his left foot amputated in recent years due to blood clot issues.
Sanders is heading into his first season at the helm of the Buffaloes after spending the last three years as the leader at Jackson State. During his time with the Tigers, Sanders said he was only able to stand for about three quarters of games before starting to have pain in his left foot.
He missed three games over his three seasons with Jackson State due to the problem.
Sanders joins a Colorado program that went just 1-11 last season, ranking last in the nation in points allowed per game (44.5) and 127th in points scored per contest (15.4). Since going 10-4 in 2016, the Buffaloes only winning season came in the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign when they finished 4-2.
