National recruiting analyst makes prediction for one of the Tennessee Vols' top 2025 recruiting targets

2025 five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench is one of the Tennessee Vols' top recruiting targets. 

Ffrench, 6-foot-1/185 lbs from Jacksonville, FL, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 3 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 18 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class. 

Ohio State has long been viewed as the leader for Ffrench. Tennessee and Texas, however, were recently pointed out by On3's Chad Simmons as the biggest threat to the Buckeyes in the battle for Ffrench. 

Ffrench, who is expected to commit in August, will take an official visit to Tennessee on June 13. 

On Thursday, Rivals.com national recruiting analyst John Garcia Jr made his prediction for Ffrench.

And he doesn't see Tennessee (or Texas) overtaking Ohio State in the battle for the coveted wide receiver. Garcia thinks the elite five-star wide receiver will commit to the Buckeyes when he makes his decision in August.

From Rivals.com: Ffrench, a former Alabama commitment, has been busy following Nick Saban's retirement. From that moment, Ohio State, Miami and Florida State each looked like strong contenders for the Jacksonville native, and some of that remains true despite him taking trips all over the map this spring.

Texas, LSU and Tennessee have made up for lost time in recently getting Ffrench on campus, and he'll take a big slate of June visits before an offseason decision comes in. The Buckeyes are tough to beat for any elite wideout and Brian Hartline has been at work here since before Ffrench went back on the market. He's since been to Columbus a couple of times and is likely to return again before the decision comes in. Prediction: Ohio State

It's tough to bet against Ohio State in this battle -- at least for right now. 

Official visits this summer could change everything. And that's why the Vols, even though they aren't the favorites, still have a decent chance to win this recruiting battle. They'll have to nail the visit, but that shouldn't be a problem for Tennessee. 

Knoxville, after all, is once again becoming a premier destination for the nation's top wide receivers.
